Thoughtful CoupleOn February 4, 2016 Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah and Representative Erik Paulsen of Minnesota introduced the "Health Savings Act of 2016, which would allow Americans greater control over their healthcare choices. They need our support in protecting our freedom of choice.

The proposed legislation would provide a number of changes that promotes supplement use to be a "normalized" part of preventative healthcare by actually allowing specific tax savings. So time to demand your rights!

The Natural Products Association (NPA), an advocate for the supplement industry, encourages its members (TyH included) and proponents of freedom in health care choices to be aware of how important passage of this bill would be and what it provides for all of us.

NPA describes the legislation's proposed changes as:

  • Allowing individuals to use their Health Savings Account (HSA) and Health Flexible Spending Account (FSA) dollars on nutritional and dietary supplements;
  • Motivating individuals to take an important step for promoting preventive health and wellness;
  • Encouraging a wider use of supplements that can reduce overall healthcare costs and increase personal savings; and
  • Promoting preventive care and promoting public health.

Please support Hatch's proposed legislation and make YOUR voice heard. Tell your Senator and Representative to support the right to use your Health Savings and Flexible Spending Account dollars on nutritional and dietary supplements.
