Essential fatty acids (EFAs) from cold-water fish and krill are vital to overall heart, brain and nervous system functions. Disorders reported to benefit from EFAs include ADHD, cognitive decline, depression, bipolar disorder, arthritis, cardiovascular, hypertension, obesity, diabetes, osteoporosis, inflammatory bowel, macular degeneration, multiple sclerosis, cancer and psoriasis to name a few.
Think of EFAs as required "lubricants" for thinking and moving for your entire life cycle. You can supply some of your EFAs with diet. For example, wild caught salmon is especially high in EFAs while farmed salmon is not. If you choose to supplement to reap the benefits of EFAs, choose wisely. Opt for molecularly distilled cold water fish as it is generally tested and free of contaminants like mercury. Choose responsibly harvested krill since it is also food for salmon and larger
