Q: Why do the Fibro-Care Veg Capsules say they are vegan but the ingredients contain gelatin which is animal product?

Asked by: Mary K - 8/2/2025
A: Mary,
Thanks for your question. The label front does say that the capsules are Veg Capsules. Also if you look on the back of the label under Other Ingredients, it will say "Capsule (Vegetable Capsule"). The ingredients on all of our products can also be found on the product page under the Supplement Facts tab.

A lot of supplements are going vegetable based capsules as a way of addressing the needs of customers whose diets are vegan or plant based.

You are right; most gelatin capsules are from a bovine (meat) source so thanks for asking. We have always bragged about our smart customers and for sure you are one of them!

Q: Hi there, I am curious if you can take this with Cymbalta

Asked by: April - 8/11/2024
A: Hi April,

You should always check with your doctor if combining supplements with any prescribed medications. In this case involving an organic magnesium, your health care professional's answer should be yes.

Cymbalta is an antidepressant that helps the serotonin-norepinephrine neurotransmitters in your brain that may help with depression, mood and/or pain. Your GI system does make serotonin (which is found low in fibromyalgia, a chronic pain condition for example) but it requires MAGNESIUM to do so. You may be helping these neurotransmitters by supplying absorbable magnesium in Fibro-Care to your body.

Q: Would taking Fibro-Care at bedtime interfere with sleep since Malic acid gives energy? Thank you!

Asked by: Kaye - 1/22/2024
A: Hi Kaye and thanks for your question! The answer is "maybe". Sorry to be vague but here's why. Every person is different in how he or she metabolizes nutrients. Although magnesium glycerinate is a calming mineral for muscles and nerves to aid sleep, it is possible that either or both manic acid and the two B vitamins could mean an energy boost that might keep one more alert.

Since many of our customers DO take Fibro-Care or Fibro-Care Cal (helps with restless leg) to AID sleep, the only way you will know if Fibro-Care keeps you awake is to try it. Let me add that every person with fibro reacts differently to nutrients as well. Pick a night that you have nothing scheduled for the next day and see how you react personally. It is the only way to really know how Fibro-Care affects YOUR sleep!

Keep in mind too that you can take Fibro-Care earlier -- for instance with dinner -- as another alternative to when to take Fibro-Care. Hope that helps!

Q: This may be silly but is there a difference between fibrocare 10 the capsules for inflammation and so much more and the bottle of fibrocare above? Thank you

Asked by: M - 9/21/2021
A: I'm not sure I understand the question but I will try to answer. We do have Fibro-Care in two forms, as tablets and capsules. The only difference between the two is the vanilla glaze on the tablets. Fibro-Care is a magnesium and malic acid formula meant to supplement your diet with magnesium, a mineral which many Americans are deficient in. It is a good side benefit if it helps with any inflammation you may have so you can continue taking Fibro-Care in tablets or capsules, which ever form you prefer as they are the same great formula.

Q: Do you have a multi vitamin that contains malic acid?

Asked by: Peggy LaVake - 12/11/2020
A: Absolutely! Malic acid is a biochemical found mostly in apples and it supports the Krebs energy cycle. Studies show it also helps fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue (ME/SEID), conditions which are low in energy. For these reasons, we added 600 mg of malic acid to our Multi-Gold (CODE 104), a premium multi-vitamin-mineral complex. Although the name implies an acidic nature, malic acid is very mild like apple juice so it will not upset your stomach. You'll find articles on both Multi-Gold and Malic Acid in our Health Library. Thanks for the question, Peggy!

Q: What are the directions for taking this product? My cousin told me they had to be taken two hours before and after eating. Please clarify. Thanks

Asked by: Sharon - 9/28/2020
A: Fibro-Care can be taken with meals or between. The formula contains organic magnesium and bioavailable, meaning easy for the body to use. Thus it does not have the tummy or GI upset of other inorganic minerals like oxide used in most magnesium products and multi-vitamins. Your friend may be thinking of Fibro-Care Cal which includes organic calcium and is our bone building formula. Those on thyroid medication are advised to take calcium about 2 hours or more after the thyroid as calcium can block the medication. Disclaimer: For informational purposes only.
